Job description – Director of Human Resources

Balance is looking for an enthusiastic Director of Human Resources to join our leadership team.

Balance is a Not for Profit organization that provides a variety of in home, community, and adult family home assistance to individuals with Intellectual Disabilities. For more information on our organization please visit www.balancinc.org.

The Director of Human Resources leads the Human Resources function for Balance, by providing guidance, advice and direction on HR related topics and ensures HR programs are aligned with agency needs. This individual assist leadership to translate strategy into solutions, actions, and results and establishes performance measures in support of organizational goals.

Responsible Areas include:

 Recruitment & Selection

 Performance Management & Employee Relations

 Training & Employee Development

 Payroll Systems

 Compensation & Benefits

 Compliance/Policy Development & Safety

Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.

Experience:

3-5 years broad HR experience with proven ability to oversee all aspects of the HR function. Must have knowledge of payroll systems. Experience of implementation and maintenance of the entire payroll infrastructure, requires attention to detail, detailed knowledge of relevant legislation, and a thorough grasp of the organization’s compensation policies and procedures.

Must have thorough understanding of HR practices, procedures, employment law and ability to administer them consistently and fairly.

3-5 years’ experience in development and implementation of HR processes, procedures and practices.

Prefer familiarity with the selection and implementation of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).

Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve significant issues.

Knowledge of Equal Opportunity (EEO) and affirmative action guidelines; trends in recruitment, organizational policies, benefits and compensation.

Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.

Ability to work independently and be self-reliant.

Technically adept, proficient in Microsoft’s Office, with a background in data base management and record keeping.
