New "Connections Center" Opening
For several months, Balance has been developing a new opportunity for people with developmental disabilities in Ozaukee County. This new program is called the “Connections Center.” It is designed as a place to go to meet friends and participate in educational and entertainment activities. Summer Recreation Volunteers Needed
Every year in July, Balance, Inc. manages a summer recreation program for children with developmental disabilities. This program has been running for 34 years and is heavily dependent on volunteers.

Sponsor A Day
Our special summer recreation program is 20 days of fun activities for children with developmental disabilities. These activities include local events such as swimming at municipal pools, the county fair, picnic at a Upper Lake Park in Port Washington and more distant events such as the Milwaukee County Zoo, a Brewer’s Game and an indoor water park in Sheboygan.

For many years, the United Way of Northern Ozaukee has been supporting Balance, Inc. through their annual campaign. This support is directed to our Wednesday Night Club.

The end of 2008 saw Balance move its offices and a portion of the adult day service program (called Pace) to a new space in Saukville. This was an increase from about 1,100 square feet at the Family Enrichment Center in Grafton to the new location with more that 2,400 square feet in Saukville. It was thought that this space would meet the needs of the organization for several years.
